No dragons, no drama, no Game of Thrones on Sundays. Here’s how fans are surviving the wait until House of the Dragon season 3 brings Westeros back.
Six episode of the latest series set in the Game of Thrones universe, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, were not enough. The show was so good that now Sundays feel exceptionally dull as we wait for season 3 of House of the Dragon. What are we supposed to do with our Sunday nights?
Prestige TV Sundays
For whatever reason, Sunday has become the de facto night for prestige TV. Game of Thrones and all the spinoffs air on Sunday nights. The Walking Dead and all the various spinoffs aired on Sunday nights. The Last of Us aired on Sundays as well. As fans, we’ve come to look forward to staying up on Sunday nights to watch the latest must-see episode of a prestige genre series.
But now, we have to wait until June to return to Westeros. Season 3 of House of the Dragon will air in June. And season 2 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will be back in 2027, so we won’t have to wait years to continue our adventures with Ser Duncan the Tall and Egg. While we wait, maybe try reading books?
Read A Book For A Change
I know, I know. We all love TV. I love TV more than most people. I get it. But reading books is great too, and there are some fantastic books about Game of Thrones you can read as well as the original books if you can’t wait until June to immerse yourself in Westeros.
Check out this curated list of books that are either original Game of Thrones books or books related to Game of Thrones. They should keep you busy until June. And some of them I will be walking about in my newsletter- Unfiltered. So sign up for that and start reading.
