A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms Nominated for Three Gotham Awards

It’s not a surprise that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is already starting a strong awards season with three Gotham TV Award nominations. Winners will be announced on June 1st.

The Gotham TV awards are a new kid on the award block. They started in 2024. The Gotham TV Awards honor high achievement in independent television. The Gotham Film Media Institute members vote to decide the winners.

This is just the beginning for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Breakthrough performances for Peter Claffey (Dunk) and Dexter Sol Ansell (Egg) impressed both fans of the GoT Universe and critics.

Three Nominations

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has three Gotham nominations for the series as a whole, and for the two leads:

Peter Claffey is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama. Claffey is the only man in the category, which doesn’t differentiate based on gender. He is up against Chase Infiniti for her role in The Testaments, Rhea Seahorn for her role in Pluribus, Syndey Chandler for her role in Alien: Earth, and Malin Ackerman for her role in The Hunting Wives.

Dexter Sol Ansell, who absolutely slayed as Egg in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series. He’s competing with Babou Ceesay for Alien: Earth, Zach Galifianakis for The Audacity, Tom Pelphrey for Task, and Karolina Wydra forPluribus.

The third nomination was for the show itself, in the Breakthrough Drama Series category. The show took a lot of risks switching up the traditional Game of Thrones playbook. The other shows in the GoT Universe lean heavily into large scale stories and battles. But, those risks paid off big. Fans embraced the small story focused format and are clamoring for a new season.

It’s nice to see the show, and its stars, already getting recognized. Good luck to Peter and Dexter!
