The Vampire Lestat episode 7 was… a lot. There’s a lot to say about this season finale, and a lot of you have been saying it online.
I’m not on Twitter/X anymore, but I’ve seen people making death threats against the writers and Rolin Jones. Wishing death on someone over a TV show? Go outside and touch some grass. Or get some help. That’s crazy behavior.
I know a lot of people had mixed feelings about this episode. It wasn’t what I was expecting, but I still really liked it.What a fantastically emotionally aware dissection of Lestat’s damaged psyche. And what an interesting look at the real dynamic between Armand and Louis. Who knew just how absolutely diabolical Armand truly is?
Like many of you, I am impatient to get to the concert. To Akasha’s arrival. To seeing what happened that caused the destruction of Montreal. And I have so many questions. What happened with the Great Conversion? Is anyone ever going to kill Lestat’s absolutely evil demon of a mother?
But the season had to end this way. This season is called The Vampire Lestat. It’s a deep dive into Lestat’s past—a backstage pass to watching him figure out what his next century is going to look like. It was always going to be about Lestat.
He’s the headliner, after all.

I know y’all had a LOT of thoughts. I’ve been reading them all day. Here are my thoughts about The Vampire Lestat episode 7:
- The last time we’re going to see these epic credits. That’s sad.
- Lestat was born to rock a cloak. Honestly.
- I’m here for this Alice in Wonderland-looking Jungian fever dream.
- Tick-tock, Lestat. You’re on the clock now for survival.
- Gives new meaning to “face yourself.” HA. I kill myself.
- Armand, you little shit.
- Claudia has to get the last word, of course. Valid. She earned it.
- Louis will always be Louis.
- Daniel. You are such an asshole.
- Lestat and Louis are not nearly monstrous enough, considering they have Akasha’s blood and powers.
- Armand knows exactly how to twist the knife. Figuratively and literally.
- Consent still isn’t a concern for a lot of people in the 21st century, either. Unfortunately.
- “Failure continues into the astral plane.” Is it a failure to try to hold onto your humanity? Or a failure to lose it?
- ARMAND, you diabolical ASSHOLE.
- Lestat is definitely smarter and more talented than you, Dan.
- “A hole in your roof.” AMAZING. You can never tell me the writing on this show is bad. It objectively isn’t. Just admit you can’t process nuance and sit down.
- RUDE, Daniel. Rude.
- Armand is truly a monster.
- Oh, we’re going down the mommy-issues rabbit hole again. Awesome.
- The direction is so good, it’s practically a character in the story.
- FINALLY, Lestat sees Gabriella for the abusive narcissistic monster she is.
- For someone who belongs to an organization with the motto “We watch,” Raglan sure does get involved in everything.
- It’s always going to be Lestat. ALWAYS, Armand. Cry about it.
- Daniel looks like a pouty four-year-old who just got put in time-out.
- I feel sorry for 12-year-old Arun, but vampire Armand can die screaming for all I care.
- You can mark his heart, Armand, but that heart will still always belong to Lestat.
- It’s time for a reckoning.
- It is love, and you know it.
- Those intrusive thoughts are launching like missiles.
- Lestat was always going to have the last word.
- Die on your feet, Lestat. Not on your knees.
- Louis and Lestat. Forever.
- What’s your angle here, Raglan?

- Ugh. We have to wait until next season.
I know y’all wanted the concert. I did too, but I’m glad they didn’t rush us through it. We need seasons to be at least 10 episodes.
The Vampire Lestat Season 2?
There has been no official announcement about the future of The Vampire Lestat yet. Most likely, AMC will announce the show’s fate at SDCC if it is renewed. If the series does return, it may shift its focus to the next chapter of the story.
That could mean The Vampire Lestat Season 2, or we could get The Queen of the Damned Season 1. It seems like the plan is to change the show’s title whenever the story shifts its focus to a new chapter of The Vampire Chronicles.
Personally, I’m hoping for The Queen of the Damned next season. I need Akasha. I need the Great Queen. And I need to see exactly what this show can do with the next chapter of this absolutely wild story. Most of all, I need to Lestat come into true power now that he’s gone on a full journey through his past and come out stronger on the other side. You have the blood of a goddess, Lestat. Act like it.
