The Testaments episode 10 “Secateurs” dropped some very interesting bombs and perfectly set up a budding revolution for season 2. And it will be back for season 2- the official season 2 announcement was made recently.
The episode title “Secateurs” refers to the gardening shears that Becka used to kill her father, which are called secateurs. But it can also refer to the girls, who have been cut back and cut down all season like budding plants, and now they’re ready to burst forth with purpose.
A rebellion is coming, and I had a lot of thoughts about it.
29 Thoughts About The Testaments episode 10 “Secateurs”
There are some clues to what lies ahead in future seasons in this episode, as well as some revelations about the past. Let’s get into it:
- Agnes read the coroner’s report? Why/when is she reading? That’s not allowed?
- Hi Margaret! Nice cameo by Margaret Atwood as the female head of the female Eyes.
- Lydia, you should know better than anyone not to trust Commander Judd.
- Agnes- Imma need you to get it together babe.
- Daisy is 100% June’s child and you’ll never convince me otherwise. Never.
- You’re the head of the Eyes, Commander Weston. Help Becka you monster!
- Bold move Agnes.
- I don’t trust Weston. I never will.
- We hear you mama.
- Damn Weston came through!
- Seems risky for Daisy to sneak out like that.
- They will definitely notice Daisy is gone.
- JUNE what’s up girl?
- OMG June didn’t know Daisy was placed in Agnes’ school?!?!?!? And this is how she finds out?!?!?
- Do you understand me? Everybody take a shot.
- You will never make me believe she’s not Nicole. Never.
- Aunt Lydia knows all and sees all.
- Daisy just shut up and listen to Garth for a change!
- Mama is falling on her sword, or shears, for Becka.
- WESTON. What a piece of shit. Rejecting her because she was abused. WHAT A DICK.
- Stepmonster Paula dropping truth bombs. That’s HORRIFYING they wanted to torture Agnes to make June suffer. Not surprising though.
- It’s a shot wedding, Becka is drugged to the gills to make her compliant.
- The Eyes outfits really do slay though. Very American Horror Story: Asylum.
- At least Becka’s safe for now. I’m not surprised her mom sacrificed herself. What chance did she have? Without marriage women in Gilead are nothing, and no one would have married her after that anyway. She did the right thing.
- I am heartbroken Agnes didn’t remember June.
- HANNAH. She remembers. She REMEMBERS WHO SHE IS.
- Lydia talking about June hits hard.
- This is EXACTLY the kind of empowerment we need.
- BRING ON SEASON 2!
The Testaments Season 2

There’s no information yet on when The Testaments season 2 will land, but it’s been rumored that the writers and showrunner have been working on for months, even before they got the official season 2 pickup.
So hopefully it won’t take years to get the revolution started. We need to show teen girls taking control of their lives more than ever in the MAGA red-pill world we’re living in. Now that The Testaments is wrapped I’ll be turning my attention to The Vampire Lestat and House of the Dragon season 3. But you can catch up on all my coverage of The Testaments here. Or, spend the summer doing some light reading about The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments, and reproductive rights:
