Professional fangirl? Is that a thing? It can be…

I am a media junkie who combines a classic analytical philosophy background with a fierce love of new media and TV.

I started watching horror films with my dad at about seven years old and grew up watching them.

Thanks to those early horror films and my voracious love of reading anything I could get my hands on, including graphic novels, sci fi and horror books I developed a love of the dark side of life early on.

The underground goth/industrial/post-punk scene was a natural fit for me and I have been interested in the darker aspects of culture for most of my life. I worked as a club and radio DJ for many years producing and playing goth, punk, Industrial, synthpop and many different genres of electronic music.

After graduating from college with a BA in Philosophy and a BA in Humanities I worked as the Managing Editor for a weekly arts and culture magazine. I also wrote reviews and features for many genre magazines like Gothic Beauty, Industrial Nation and ReGen.

I have been working as a freelance writer specializing in Search Engine Optimization, Digital Content Creation and Social Media for the last twenty years. I’ve been a published entertainment writer for 11 years, writing for some of the most trusted outlets in entertainment. I also have an advanced degree in Communications/New Media.

I’ve written about just about every type of TV show, but my obsessions are dark prestige shows like The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones.

After a period of exile in every Southern state I never wanted to drive through let alone live in I was finally able to return to my beloved home state of NY. I enjoy drinking way too much coffee, wearing black, being sarcastic, making men cry online, getting tattoos, and indulging my addiction to technology and media.

The Felines

I lost my beloved Snowshoe Siamese, Poe, less than a year ago. I miss her everyday. She was with me for 16 years, and she’s always here with me in spirit. My current household deities are Tuxie brothers Fitzgerald and Hemingway. You can see more of them on my Instagram.
